Image processing

For the past 25 years TECNALIA-Infotech has been working to provide artificial systems with the capacity to automatically understand and analyse image content. It undertakes developments for image processing and Artificial Vision applications in the spheres of Quality Inspection and Control, and Security and Surveillance, among others, and tackles the whole development of the process, from the advanced algorithms right up to their launching and industrial-scale production.

Artificial Vision applications in the following emerging fields are currently being studied:

• Biomedical Sector, analysis of biomedical images and development of new and more powerful processing algorithms based on biological models.
• Person-machine interaction, to enable people to interact naturally with different systems, machines and equipment.

Intelligent Systems for Managing Information

The intelligent management of information is a crucial factor for any person and organisation. This ambit deals with technologies that allow data and information –structured as well as unstructured– to be analysed, merged, indexed, searched, learnt, and basically exploited.

To achieve this, research is being done on the vast possibilities offered by Semantic Technologies that facilitate, among other things, data modelling and interoperability, access to heterogeneous sources of information or intelligent search.

Internet of Things:

After person-machine and machine-machine communication over the Internet, the next step is for any object to form part of the Internet, be identified on the web, connect with other objects and exchange information in order to make real information of the world available in the virtual world.

To achieve this, TECNALIA-Infotech has specialists in the sphere of the Identification, Location and Traceability of Objects, Context-aware Intelligent Systems, and Intelligent Co-operative Objects.
