This is the best way to perform the technology transfer service, to convert theoretical ideas into valuable and useful solutions and to guarantee an optimal Time-To-Market, minimising at the same time the risk for the customer in the early stages of the development of a new telecommunication innovation. This specific knowledge is also transferred successfully to firms in other activity sectors of industry, that demand advanced wired or wireless connectivity for their products. .
Telecom carries out pre-competitive research in close cooperation with customers and partners in the field of Telecommunications. These activities are usually performed with the support of national and international programmes and consist of applied research, adaptation, and experimental validation in the field of Telecommunications, addressing current and future market needs. Pre-competitive activities are funded through competitive programmes managed by public administrations at European, Spanish, Basque and Biscay levels.
Project results are packaged into R&D assets and Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights, such as platforms, utilities, reference models and designs, putting the emphasis on ensuring an effective Technology Transfer to the market.
The “Powered by TECNALIA” Programme provides the business community with the Applied Research results from the different Programmes in which Telecom Unit participates. It is the ideal solution for new product innovation. The Programme is a set of R+D Assets and Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights, such as platforms, utilities, reference models and designs that can be used by organisations to enhance their innovation capacity.
