Telecom Unit carries out pre-competitive research in close cooperation with customers and partners in the field of Telecommunications. These activities are usually performed with the support of national and international programmes and consist of applied research, adaptation, and experimental validation in the field of Telecommunications, addressing current and future market needs. Pre-competitive activities are funded through competitive programmes managed by public administrations at European, Spanish, Basque and Biscay levels.

Project results are packaged into R&D assets and Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights, such as platforms, utilities, reference models and designs, putting the emphasis on ensuring an effective Technology Transfer to the market.

Telecom Unit in EU Framework Programmes

Telecom is involved in various international programmes covering a wide range of areas in terms of orientation and closeness to the market and maintains cooperation agreements with a relevant number of organisations and research centres, some of them top references world-wide.
