The leading Smart Grid research infrastructures in Europe available for everybody

The ERIGrid European project opens its 1st Call for Transnational Free Access

If you are looking for infrastructures for development, testing and simulation of Smart Grid concepts for conducting your own experimental research, then ERIGrid, an initiative in which TECNALIA is involved, offers an invaluable opportunity for you.

Up to 15 December 2016, ERIGrid will keep open its 1st Call for Transnational Access. Users from research, academia and industry are invited to apply for free access to top European smart grid laboratories of ERIGrid partners.

Although this first Call is close to be closed a new call will be opened in March 2017. In the framework of ERIGrid calls for Transnational Access will be opened every 6 months until December 2019.

Researchers can apply individually or with colleagues as a User Group and must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Be employed by organisations located in the European Union or Associated European states (limited access can also be provided to applicants from non-European countries).
  • The User Group leader and the majority of the members must work in a country other than the one where the requested infrastructure is located (“transnational”).
  • Be able to publicly report about the conducted project.

Successful applicants will gain free access to the experimental facilities offered by ERIGrid, and the associated technical, administrative and logistical support by the ERIGrid experts. In addition, travel and accommodation expenses during the access will be reimbursed to the users according to the ERIGrid Transnational Access conditions. The starting time and length of the user project are flexible; the access duration is normally limited to 3 months.
