RCMethod to obtain ceramic coatings and ceramic coatings obtained.

This patent refers to a procedure to obtain ceramic coatings and the obtained ceramic coatings. This process allows us to obtain ceramic oxides such as ZrO2, Al2O3, TiO2, Cr2O3, Y2O3, SiO2, CaO, MgO, CeO2, Sc2O3, MnO, and/or complex combinations of the same, by means of a technique using the detonation of high-frequency pulses in which the relative movement between the combustion stream and the substrate or piece to be coated takes place at a speed that produces an overlapping of the different coating areas, thus exceeding the coating of 60% of the surface. This process allows for the production of ceramic coatings with a thickness of more than 30 micron in one sole operation.

  • Patent EP2039796 (B1): Method to obtain ceramic coatings and ceramic coatings obtained.

TLPElectrical interconnection system in a marine environment.

The electrical interconnection system between at least one electric power generator and one electric power transfer system (e.g.: a submarine cable) includes: a submersible float device (with positive buoyancy), an anchoring subsystem to anchor the float device on the seabed, and an electrical interconnection subsystem to interconnect the electricity generators and the electricity transfer system. The electrical interconnection subsystem is linked to the float device. The invention also relates to a corresponding installation and method.

  • Patent WO2011076957 (A1): Electrical interconnection system between at least one electricity generator and one electricity transfer system in a marine environment.

rotorDirect-action superconducting synchronous generator for a wind turbine

The invention relates to a direct-action electricity generator for a wind turbine fitted with salient rotor poles and a stepped cryostat for housing superconducting coils and keeping them at a cryogenic temperature while the inside of the cryostat contains no coolant. The invention makes it possible to achieve optimum thermal insulation of the coils without having to continuously refill the cryostat and guarantees a good distribution of the magnetic field without the use of costly materials.

  • Patent WO2011080357 (A1): Direct-action superconducting synchronous generator for a wind turbine.

glicerinaProcess to purify glycerine deriving from biodiesel production

Glycerine has the potential of becoming an extremely versatile building block in the biorefinery industry. However, the raw glycerine derived from the manufacturing of biodiesel is of very low quality (approximately 50%), given that it is usually composed of a mix of glycerine, methanol, inorganic salts, fatty acids, triglycerides that have not reacted and other materials, found in different amounts. This patent describes a laboratory-level process to develop the purification of glycerine using electrodialysis (ED) membrane technology.

  • Patent P201031399: Process to purify glycerine deriving from biodiesel production.

The invention relates to a novel photoreactor design based on a group of chemical reactions known as advanced oxidation processes (AOP). By means of an innovative configuration of the radiant elements and the air diffuser system, main limitations related to mass transfer detected in previous designs are overcome. Radiant elements are coated by a new photocatalizer which is in contact with the polluted water and is activated by light radiation coming from the above-mentioned radiant elements. Potential applications of the invention are the elimination of non-biodegradable pollutants such most of the considered as “emerging contaminants” (i.e. pesticides, pharmaceuticals, flame retardants) from water, and water disinfection.

Dialquil r

Method for manufacturing pure 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol di(alkyl carbonate)s that are substantially free of oligomers, comprising the steps of: a) preparing a reaction mixture consisting of (i) at least one dianhydrohexitol, (ii) relative to the quantity of dianhydrohexitol present, at least two molar equivalents of at least one dialkyl carbonate of formula R-O-C(=O)-O-R, in which R has the same meaning as above, and (iii) relative to the quantity of dianhydrohexitol present, between 0.01 and less than 0.1 molar equivalents of a transesterification catalyst; b) heating the reaction mixture to its reflow temperature in a reactor preferably equipped with a rectification column comprising a sufficient number of theoretical distillation plates for the continuous separation, by means of  fractional distillation, of the alcohol obtained or the azeotrope that the alcohol forms with the dialkyl carbonate present in the reaction mixture from the reaction mixture. The method also comprises a step of recovering the transesterification catalyst from the reaction mixture and isolating the 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol di(alkyl carbonate).

Acetoína r

Obtention of a mutant lactic acid bacterium, L. Lactis lactis CML B4 strain, having a high production capacity of acetoin. This bacterium has a reduced lactate dehydrogenase enzymatic activity, lower than 10% relative to that of the parental strain. Consequently, the production capacity of acetoin of said mutant strain is 10-fold higher than that of the wild-type parental strain when both are cultivated under identical experimental conditions in a culture media containing 10 g/L of glucose as a carbon source. The present invention is also related to an efficient process for acetoin production by aerobic fermentation using the strain of the invention. Under optimal fermentation conditions, L. lactis subsp. lactis CML B4 strain produces up to 43.06 g of acetoin from 100 g of glucose in batch fermentations, and 72.42 g of acetoin from 200 g of glucose in fed-batch fermentations.

Butanodiol r

Process for manufacturing 2,3-butanediol by hydrogenation of acetoin using hydrogen and heterogeneous hydrogenation catalysts, both in the absence and in the presence of a solvent selected from water, a water soluble non-acid solvent, and mixtures thereof, especially heterogeneous supported metal noble catalysts.

  • Patent PCT-ES2014-070598: Method for manufacturing 2, 3-butanediol
