TECNALIA and Bizkaia Enpresa Digitala organized a workshop on “How to boost creative thinking in the ICT sector” last March 27th

Testing your creativity

The workshop aimed to boost the skills and creative skills needed for the ICT sector. To this end, a test tool has been designed to evaluate the level of creativity that identifies creative personal capacities and areas to be improved.

Program for the session was divided in two main slots:

  • Creativity: What you always wanted to know and never asked. One of the topics was the characteristics of creative people. Focusing on  high-technology industries we listed the following ones: curious, seeks problems, enjoys challenge, optimistic, able to suspend judgment, comfortable with imagination, sees problems as opportunities, sees problems as interesting, problems are emotionally acceptable, challenges assumptions, doesn't give up easily (perseveres, works hard) flexibility to  produce variety of ideas and approaches, originality novel ideas.
  • Performing an online creative self-test elaborated by Innospark project. The Self-Test  is an interactive self-assessment tool for ICT sector employees and employers to discover the creative skills they possess, while identifying the skills they need to develop and empower to foster innovation in their work. Self-evaluation is a useful way for users to better recognize their creativity and to identify areas where they may need more attention.  These 15 creative skills have been chosen equally from the three identified skill groups: general skills, soft skills and problem solving skills.
