“The decarbonisation measures will be based around six lines of action: mobility, energy, water, procurement, infrastructure and waste”

TECNALIA starts the Erronka Garbia certification process for its events in line with its commitment to achieve direct and indirect CO2 neutrality by 2030

TECNALIA has drawn up a Decarbonisation Plan, and proposes implementing a number of measures in several areas identified as critical, with the aim of achieving climate neutrality by 2030.

This plan is based on improving energy efficiency, the intelligent use of resources and implementing sustainable energy systems, involving everything from its processes and services, to its infrastructures and facilities and the commitment of its people and suppliers, among others.

The Erronka Garbia certification of events is one of the lines of action aimed at working towards neutralising supply chain-related emissions, among other measures. TECNALIA is implementing environmental measures to minimise negative impacts on the environment, as proposed by Erronka Garbia, a certificate awarded by Ihobe, the Basque Government's public environmental management company. The measures will be based around six lines of action: mobility, energy, water, procurement, infrastructure and waste.

More specifically, measures will be implemented to foster sustainable mobility (use of public transport, electric cars, car sharing, among others), efficient energy management through purchasing energy-efficient equipment, green procurement and contracting of catering, signage, etc., and awareness-raising messages via communications, social networks and the website, among many others.

JIEEC conferences, smart grids

The 18th edition of the JIEEC conferences is already being prepared, based on the required sustainability specifications. It will take place on October 9 and 10, 2024 at the BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) in collaboration with ORKESTRA and EVE.

Electricity grids are a fundamental part of the energy system and a key element when it comes to ensuring a sustainable energy transition and, therefore, they comply fully with the philosophy of this certificate.
