CARBONIPUS encompasses a series of new chemical processes for obtaining polycarbonates and polyurethanes that are not based on isocyanate (NIPUs), with modulated properties for different applications.
Polyurethanes are currently manufactured from polyols and isocyanates of petrochemical origin. Isocyanates are highly toxic compounds that can react with water present in air humidity, creating production issues. This has generated market interest in developing polyurethanes that are not based on such a compound.
