Project results will be tested in four areas where IoT is used: industry, consumer, automotive and airborne

Thirteen European partners are working together to offer a secure and innovative IoT architecture which respects privacy. Their work will facilitate the development and functioning of more resistant IoT service environments.

The technologies that will be used include front-end access control and numerous runtime security functions, AI-based detection models, honeypots, control points and monitoring systems. They are all integrated into a secure gateway, offering security countermeasures both for hardware and software.

The system is based on the Security by Design paradigm. The recommended guidelines and procedures cover the entire lifecycle of secure software creation, from the design to evaluation and certification, including development and testing.

The results of the project will be tested in four areas in which IoT is commonly used: industry (remote terminal operation), consumer (smart home), automotive (autonomous vehicle) and airborne (drone operation).

The consortium includes all the stakeholders of the IoT ecosystem: service operators, OEMs, technology providers, developers, security experts, as well as academic and research partners. End users will take part using a live-lab environment.

The project will last three years and will receive funding worth five million euros from the European Commission’s H2020 programme. Lead by Atos Hungary, it will include the following European partners:
