Do you know what industrial symbiosis is? Do you know how your company could benefit from it?

Industrial symbiosis allows a company to obtain the benefits of “surplus” resources from their activities (by-products, waste heat, rain water, warehouses, logistics, etc.), by selling them to a company nearby or by interchanging them for other resources that may be required. This approach allows the producer to reduce the cost of managing waste/by-products and the user to reduce the cost of raw materials and/or fuel; in addition to significantly minimising the environmental impact.

In order to explore this concept further and understand the advantages it can offer you, we invite you to participate in a hands-on workshop promoting industrial symbiosis in the Oarsoaldea area. The objective of the event is to search for synergies between the participating companies. You will be able to find out about support tools to implement industrial symbiosis practices or strategies in your business, developed under the framework of the STORM project.

The data obtained during the workshop will identify possible synergies between companies. A report will be prepared for each company with the synergies identified.

The workshop is organised by TECNALIA and the OARSOALDEA Development Agency under the framework of the European Project STORM (Industrial Symbiosis for the Sustainable Management of Raw Materials). As a region, Oarsoaldea aims to contribute to achieving the European Commission’s plan “Towards a circular economy: a zero waste programme for Europe”.
