    The Fire Digital Lab is a pioneering laboratory digitally connected to the client allowing them to view the tests in progress via multi-streaming without the need to travel to our facilities.

    The client will be able to monitor images and test data both live and recorded via the myTecnalia digital platform.

    Description

    Our fire testing laboratory has the following equipment:

    • Reaction equipment (according to EN, UNE, UL, IMO, ISO, etc.), calorimetric cone, SBI, flammability equipment, radiant floor covering panel and radiant side panel, calorimetric pump, UL 94/EN 60695-11-10 flame propagation equipment, EN 60332-1-2 cable propagation equipment, LOI. EN 60695-11-10 flame spread equipment, EN 60332-1-2 cable flame spread equipment, roof flame spread equipment, LOI.
    • Equipment for characterising smoke toxicity and opacity with optical density and toxicity analysis (FTIR, tubular furnace).
    • Calorimeter equipped with a 4 m x 4 m hood (3 MW)
    • Large-scale test benches to study the fire spread on façades up to 10 m high (BS 8414, NFPA 285, CAN/ULC-S134, etc.)
    • 3×3 m vertical furnace and 4×3 m horizontal furnace with different heating curves. Possibility of load application and smoke tightness assessment.
    • Small-scale 1×1 m cubic experimental furnace for prototypes.

    • Testing of cells, modules and complete batteries using thermal runaway induction.
    • Simulation of fire behaviour (ANSYS, Eurocodes) and performance-based design.
    • Analysis of regulation reports and on-site inspections.
