Due to its low entry barrier and close association with the maker movement, plastic additive manufacturing and its widespread dissemination has led to unrealistic expectations in the companies, which have not been covered.

Digital manufacturing processes will result in disruptive changes in the industry. This technology needs to be realistically evaluated, with strictly technical considerations and in an industrial context, integrating its capabilities and combining them with conventional methods.
