SEANERGY 2024: offshore renewable energy

Sea Energy 2024: energías renovables offshore

Date

26 June 2024 - 28 June 2024

Venue

Nantes, Pays de la Loire – France

Time

9:00 am - 6:00 pm

TECNALIA will have its own stand, and together with Nautilus Floating Solutions, it will showcase engineering services for the deployment of floating wind farms at Seanergy 2024, the offshore renewable energy event.

Seanergy 2024 is France’s leading international offshore renewable energy event: it will bring together 4,000 participants and 200 exhibitors – 30% of them international representatives – to support, bring together and reinforce the synergies of all stakeholders in the offshore wind and marine renewable energy sectors. Seanergy helps to accelerate the structuring of the industry, promoting its development in France and worldwide and, of course, supporting blue growth and the green transition.

Offshore wind is a key technology for increasing renewable energy production and supporting the energy transition. Fixed wind turbines are already in the commercial development phase, while floating wind turbines have yet to reach the commercialisation phase, reducing costs and risks for developers to make a firm commitment to the technology.

There are barriers that need to be addressed and overcome for floating offshore wind to reach its full potential.

  • Choosing and designing the floating substructure and mooring system for each site and wind turbine is a key step in optimising costs.
  • Technical challenges such as the response to movement of the floating substructure due to environmental conditions must also be taken into account.
  • There are also several operational factors to be analysed such as supply chains, port infrastructure and operation and maintenance (O&M).

TECNALIA’s floating wind energy services

In order to effectively commercialise floating wind energy, developers can rely on TECNALIA. TECNALIA has 20 years of offshore experience :

  • Technology development and engineering services for offshore renewable energy deployment:
    • offshore wind energy (floating and fixed)
    • ocean energy (waves, tides)
    • floating photovoltaics
  • Assessment of materials, components and advanced monitoring systems in real marine environments - HarshLab
  • Autonomous and precision O&M solutions, including operational data-driven AI applications

Participation of our experts

  • On 27 June, TECNALIA colleague François-Xavier Fäy will make Pitch entitled: “HarshLab: A floating laboratory to test and validate innovative technologies in a real marine environment”.

We would like to invite you to come and visit our stand (G56), where we will be delighted to welcome you!
