The “Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Basque Country” event
The “Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Basque Country” event is part of the European SIRENE initiative.
The main aim of the project is to support the growth of social innovation ecosystems that provide environmentally friendly, sustainable, community-based services to implement SHAFE (Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments) in Europe by providing a viable framework for investment. As a result, it encourages the widespread adoption of smart solutions for a good quality of life, combining the housing sector and ICTs.
Aim of the event
- In this context, we are looking to exchange views on the social innovation framework being developed through the project and get inspiration from different events in different countries.
- As partners of the initiative, we are promoting this event to share experiences from the Basque Country at a local, regional and national level, and consult the actors in the Basque ecosystem on the social innovation framework developed by SIRENE.
Smart environments for ageing well
- For an increasing number of people, the current housing stock and other buildings are no longer suitable for independent living. Investments in smart livingsolutions are needed to upgrade the existing housing stock into a smart living environment suitable for ageing well.
- This is an interesting area for investment, which would benefit greatly from a strong alignment between social entrepreneurs and innovation ecosystems.
- The SIRENE initiative is working to stimulate and foster these collaborations on innovation.
