We introduce GIDARC® to Stellantis to speed up smart manufacturing
Our intelligent autonomy technology for industrial welding has been selected for one of Stellantis' global manufacturing challenges. TECNALIA will participate in Factory Booster Day 2026, Stellantis' flagship innovation initiative that connects selected technology providers with manufacturing leaders from across the automotive industry. Our participation follows the selection of GIDARC® as a solution for Challenge 29, one of more than 100 manufacturing challenges launched by Stellantis.
International recognition for GIDARC® and TECNALIA's innovation capabilities
Factory Booster Day is Stellantis' annual open innovation initiative that identifies key manufacturing challenges across its global operations and invites leading organizations to propose breakthrough solutions. For the 2026 edition, Stellantis published more than 100 manufacturing challenges challenges, seeking innovative approaches to improve efficiency, flexibility, sustainability, and competitiveness across its production facilities worldwide.
TECNALIA submitted several technological capabilities and proprietary assets to different challenges. As a result, our proposal was selected for Challenge 29: “How to reduce lead times for die update due to product changes, using 3D printing?”, a significant achievement that demonstrates the industrial relevance and innovation potential of our technologies.
The selected companies will present their solutions during Factory Booster Day 2026 in Detroit on 21st October, where manufacturing leaders and decision makers from Stellantis will evaluate innovative technologies capable of transforming the future of industrial production.
GIDARC®: Intelligent Autonomy for Industrial Welding
During the event, we will showcase GIDARC®, TECNALIA's advanced intelligent autonomy solution for robotic welding.
GIDARC® combines artificial intelligence, machine vision, advanced robotics, and adaptive control technologies to enable robotic systems that can:
- Understand and perceive their working environment.
- Automatically adapt to variations in part geometry and positioning.
- Reduce robot programming and commissioning times.
- Improve weld quality and process repeatability.
- Increase operational flexibility and manufacturing productivity.
The solution addresses one of the key challenges facing modern manufacturing: enabling robotic welding systems to operate autonomously in dynamic production environments while reducing reliance on complex manual programming.
Driving the future of automotive manufacturing
Our participation in Factory Booster Day 2026 reinforces TECNALIA's position as a trusted technology partner for advanced manufacturing and industrial digitalization.
Being selected by Stellantis among a global pool of proposals represents a strong validation of our expertise in:
- Smart manufacturing.
- Advanced robotics.
