TECNALIA will hold the 10th Anniversary of the Marine Energy Conference, Bilbao 2024

TECNALIA is pleased to announce the 10th Anniversary of the Marine Energy Conference. The event will be organised by JRL-ORE and Euskampus Fundazioa and backed by the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, TECNALIA and BCAM. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao on May 29.

Marine energy in Bilbao

The sea is a renewable energy resource with great potential that must be taken into account in the current energy transition.

  • At TECNALIA, we develop technology for the efficient use of marine energy, with a focus on offshorewind power, especially floating wind power and wave energy.
  • We also work on all horizontal technologies related to networking.

Formula for the Supergen ORE Hub in the UK

The 2024 edition will feature a keynote speech by Deborah Greaves on the successful formula for the Supergen ORE Hub in the UK, which connects academia, industry, politics and public stakeholders, inspires innovation and maximises social value in offshore wind, wave and tidal energy.

The goal of the event is to find the common ground between research and the needs of the industry in the field of offshore renewable energy in the Basque Country. It is also expected to stimulate debate on the latest research activities, ongoing collaborative projects and innovations in offshore renewable energy in the region.

* Short visits to the Wave Flume of the Department of Energy Engineering will be organised during coffee and lunch breaks. The wave flume is located in front of the lunch area.
