“Companies need innovative solutions to be able to respond efficiently to the needs of the market, particularly the bearings market”

HISTORY OF FERSA

Fersa is a Spanish multinational company with over 50 years’ experience in the design, manufacture and distribution of complete bearing solutions for the automotive industry worldwide.

Its origin dates back to 1968, when two family companies linked to the automobile sector joined together to form A&S FERDSA and from whose evolution Fersa Bearings was born.

The rigor, quality and modernization of production processes, as well as constant investment in R&D&I, has allowed them to be Original Equipment (OEM) manufacturers and Tier1 approved suppliers, which positions them among one of the leading aftermarket brands.

FERSA + TECNALIA COLLABORATION

Industrial innovation is the key to being able to generate new technologies that enhance the manufacturing and conceptualization capabilities of new products.

It is about having useful tools that allow manufacturing to be optimized, incorporating more precise quality controls, collecting more process information that is used as a key asset, for automatic real-time decision making.

“This is how the collaboration between TECNALIA and FERSA came about.  Collaboration based on innovation and artificial intelligence” says Gabriel Aznar, Head of Industry of Things TECNALIA.

Industrial innovation, a TECNALIA + FERSA project

To put it into practice, TECNALIA has developed a data management tool that integrates simulation models from a bearing production line and Artificial Intelligence to control the process. “It is a solution that provides multiple advantages to the industrial sector, the environment and society as a whole”, Operantions Director, FERSA.
