"Draft Standard PNE 41610 on Industrialised Construction enters the public information phase"

Standard PNE 41610 on Industrialised Construction, developed by the CTN 41/SC 14 Standardisation Committee attached to the Spanish Association for Standardisation, has just officially entered the public information phase

TECNALIA, as a key player in the development and implementation of industrialised solutions, considers this step to be decisive in providing the sector with common and comparable tools that favour its evolution.

What does the new Standard PNE 41610 provide?

Industrialised construction is transforming the way in which we conceive and execute buildings: increased quality, greater efficiency, reduced lead times and full traceability throughout the process. However, the sector still faces a key challenge: the lack of a common language and homogeneous criteria to assess the Industrialisation Index of a project or building.

UNE-PNE 41610 was created precisely to address this need and is based onthree fundamental pillars:

    1. Unification of terms and definitions: provide a common vocabulary that facilitates communication between all actors: developers, architectural firms, engineering firms, construction companies and manufacturers of industrialised systems.
    2. Systematic classification of industrialised components: sort and categorise the elements off-site, enabling them to be compared, integrating them more efficiently into the design and improving the relationship between manufacturers and designers.
    3. Methodology for calculating the industrialisation index: establish an objective method to measure and compare the industrialisation achieved in any project, regardless of the construction system or technology used.

This index will be a decisive step forward in boosting transparency and standardisation in industrialised construction, leading to better informed decisions that are more aligned with the sector's productivity and sustainability objectives.

Public consultation period from 19 March to 28 April 2026

The regulation will remain in the public information phase for 40 days, enabling industry stakeholders to submit any comments and suggestions before its final approval.

    We foster industrialised construction

TECNALIA is actively working to promote industrialisation as a driver of innovation and competitiveness in construction. From technology solutions off-site to process automation, digital integration and optimisation of building systems, we help accelerate the transition towards more efficient, sustainable and controlled models.

Our participation in technical standardisation committees reinforces this commitment: collaborate in the creation of standards that control the market and facilitate its evolution towards industrialisation.
