The consortium’s goal is to promote a sophisticated exploitation of data and artificial intelligence in the industrial sphere.

The era of digitalisation is here, a real revolution. Never has a technological revolution affected so many sectors simultaneously and so quickly. One of the most important enabling technologies in this new era is Artificial Intelligence.

There are many initiatives that try to enhance the active role of Artificial Intelligence. TECNALIA would like to highlight IndesIA, a National Industrial Consortium for the Impulse of Data Economy and Artificial Intelligence. Its goal is to promote a sophisticated exploitation of data and artificial intelligence in the industrial sphere among companies.

It has been configured as a consortium made up of six driver companies (Telefónica, Repsol, Microsoft, Navantia, Ténicas Reunidas, and Gestamp), and collaborates with multiple private and public research centres. This consortium hopes to integrate new companies and different sectors as it progresses.

IndesIA presented an ambitious strategy before the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA), which is shaped by the R&D and innovation strategies in Artificial Intelligence , in which TECNALIA has participated since the beginning with benchmark bodies.

TECNALIA participates in IndesIA as a member of the Basque Artificial Intelligence Center to increase competitiveness by means of automation and optimisation of industrial processes. It also encourages sustainability by implementing energy efficiency, the use of new materials, and the defence of the circular economy. All of this is supported by the use of data and artificial intelligence.

Training days

TECNALIA will also participate in the cycle of four dissemination days called “Inteligencia Artificial, ¡ya es presente!” (Artificial Intelligence is here!); organised by the SPRI, within the framework of Enpresa Digitala.

These sessions will also feature the new Aid Programme for Applied Artificial Intelligence. Our colleagues Óscar Lage and Sergio Gil will take part in the session titled: “La Era de la Digitalización: Aplicaciones Prácticas y Securización de la Inteligencia Artificial”, (The Digitalisation Era: Practical Applications and Securisation of Artificial Intelligence) which will be held on 1 July 9.30h.

This session will delve into what Applied Artificial Intelligence is and its safety through the experiences of productive companies with ongoing processes.

We welcome IndesIA and we encourage all companies who want to explore the practical application of Artificial Intelligence, so they add their strengths to the initiative.
