The SCCG is the body in charge of advising the European Commission and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) on strategic issues related to security certification and on the preparation of the EU’s roadmap
On 29 May, the European Commission announced that Tecnalia is one of the members of the SCCG; an body regulated by the (Cybersecurity Act), approved in June 2019.
Our colleague Leire Orue-Echevarria will be our representative for the next three years in this body.
As a member of the SCCG
Implementation of the Cybersecurity Act
We contributed to the implementation of the Cybersecurity Act through several initiatives; the participation of Leire Orue-Echevarria in the ENISA working group for the definition of the European cloud certification scheme, and the co-chairing of the self-regulatory group created by the European Commission for the certification of cloud providers (CSPCERT) as a representative of the technological community. We also carried out a study for the European Commission on cloud certification schemes that was qualified as innovative.
The existence of harmonised and recognised standards at European level is key to generate confidence in ICT products, services and processes, since they ensure business continuity and reliability in the systems.
Together with the rest of the members of the SCCG we will continue to contribute to the development and harmonisation of standards and security requirements.
