MEDICA has been selected as the place to exhibit three of TECNALIA’s key assets in the field of neurorehabilitation:
ArmAssist 2.0 will be presented. The second generation robotic device for passive, assisted and active training for arms and hands, which will allow the majority of patients affected by a cerebrovascular accident to be treated. The improved software platform evaluates the patient’s progress and remotely manages the game-based therapy which motivates the patients to actively take part in their rehabilitation and maximise the results.
In addition, the start-up FESIA, whose main objective is to develop a new approach to functional electrical stimulation (FES) for people affected by neurological diseases, will showcase one of their products, FESIA Walk, for patients suffering from club foot. FESIA takes functional electrical stimulation to the next level, allowing the performance and assessment during rehabilitation therapy to be improved, providing added value for all those involved: patients, physicians, hospitals and insurance companies.
Lastly, TECNALIA will present ELCODE, a transdermal drug delivery system controlled by electrodes based on iontophoresis technology. This new system has unique temporal and spatial control characteristics for transdermal drug delivery, giving it a competitive advantage over existing solutions on the market.
