Support for the Basque Government’s Emergency Response and Meteorology Department in fields related to integrated and permanent monitoring of the weather and derived sub-areas, such as ocean-meteorology, hydrometeorology and agro-meteorology, among others.
The Basque Government disseminates this Meteorology service under the “name” of EUSKALMET – Basque Meteorology Agency.
This support includes:
- Meteorological analysis and forecasting, along with that of meteorological and climatic natural phenomena.
- Monitoring of the Basque Autonomous Community’s meteorological observation networks.
- Development of meteorological and climatological information products for public services and for those sectors and economic activities in which climatology and meteorology are particularly relevant.
- Preparation of meteorological warnings and alerts due to adverse meteorological phenomenons and their real-time monitoring in the different areas of possibility, probability or existence of related problems.
- Generation of specific technical and scientific publications and reports on meteorology and climatology.
