Project

WARRANT: Secure and resilient maritime digital systems

    Transporte marítimo

The digitalisation of maritime transport requires ensuring the security and resilience of its systems. Autonomous ships face risks from cyberattacks, complex system integration, and unpredictable interactions between humans and AI, with no clear standards or processes for safe deployment.

WARRANT seeks to improve the reliability and security of maritime digital systems by integrating aspects of risk management, human factors and cybersecurity.

TECNALIA focuses on three areas of research:

    • A methodology for assessing cyber risks in the development of maritime digital systems.
    • Tools for discovering information on the vulnerabilities of embedded digital components.
    • The development of solutions to simulate cyberattacks on AI-based embedded systems and propose improvements for their protection.
    • These innovations will be validated in four Living Labs that include different types of ships and digital systems.
