You will be able to experience this fun fact on 26th September during the European Researchers' Night in Bilbao.
The European Researchers' Night in Bilbao is a scientific dissemination event held simultaneously in hundreds of European cities. This initiative, promoted by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe programme’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, seeks to bring science closer to citizens in an entertaining and participative way.
During the event, researchers from different disciplines will share their work through free activities, such as workshops, experiments, talks, shows and guided visits. The Researchers' Night aims to highlight the impact of research on society and encourage scientific vocations among young people.
PROMISE Quantum European Initiative
This initiative, led by TECNALIA, promotes the development of quantum technologies based on nitrogen vacancies (NV) in diamonds in order to obtain high-precision magnetic images.
PROMISE is committed to a robust, accessible and easy-to-use solution to explore new horizons in fields such as biomedicine, materials science or semiconductors.
European Researchers’ Night
Along with the UPV/EHU we will see you at PROMISE Quantum, number 9.
- You will have the opportunity to discover how diamonds are used to measure physical phenomena with extraordinary precision.
- Through interactive demonstrations, you will be able to explore how these quantum technologies work and how they are applied to build chemical structures on the atomic scale. In fact, a diamond with a "defect" can help us detect live tumour cells without damaging them.
- Come and get up close and personal with one of the most fascinating frontiers of today’s science and be amazed by the power of quantum physics!
TECNALIA will also participate in the European Researchers’ Night with the OREGAUA initiative, whose main objective is to raise awareness of the effects of climate change on the Basque coast, and highlight the key role of science in the fight against global warming.
