OT cybersecurity is already an operational challenge

Industrial digitalisation and the convergence of IT and OT systems have transformed the operation of industrial plants. Nowadays, installations are no longer isolated. Every remote connection, every connected sensor and every software update increases the attack surface. Actual incidents in OT environments have shown that cyber-attacks cause production downtime, material and reputational damage, and even risks to people’s safety.

TECNALIA is promoting this technical conference with a clear goal: to bring industrial cybersecurity closer to the reality of the plant, from a practical and technical approach that is based on real experiences.

From a real attack to practical defence

At the conference we will analyse how an industrial cyber-attack materialises, from the first stages of recognition to its impact on physical processes. We will look at real incidents in OT environments and work on defence measures that can be applied immediately at the plant, using the MITRE ATT&CK for ICS framework as a guide for analysis.

The content combines strategic vision and technical depth, and includes:

    • Introduction to the risks arising from IT/OT convergence
    • Analysis of real incidents and the main phases of an industrial cyber-attack
    • A networking space to exchange experiences among professionals
    • Realistic demonstration of an APT attack on OPC-UA protocol in a laboratory environment
    • Keys to building a position of proactive defence in OT environments and closing with practical resources

The conference will be given by Iván Giner, a TECNALIA specialist in industrial cybersecurity, with experience in the protection of industrial infrastructures and control systems in real plant environments.

    In-person sessions are held at:

    Who is it for?

This conference is aimed at infrastructure and plant managers, maintenance managers, heads of cybersecurity and IT/OT teams, as well as industrial, control and systems engineers interested in the security of OT environments.
