Smart Grids: global trends and perspectives on electrification of the economy and digitalisation of grids

Electrical grids are the backbone of the energy system and a key element to ensure a sustainable energy transition.

    • This conference aims to be a meeting point in which experts and researchers from different countries and fields can exchange ideas and discuss the state of the art and recent developments in the electrical sector.
    • The event will focus specially on the geopolitical and strategic aspects that may affect its development in Europe and globally.
    • Participants will share experiences and opinions on grid digitalisation and on projects and solutions that are promoting a greater electrification of demand.
    • The conference will have a special space for representatives of electricity distribution companies in Spain, where they will share the opportunities and challenges facing the electricity sector.

During four sessions, participants will be able to share experiences and opinions on:

    • The international perspective of electrical grids
    • Innovation in the digitalisation of the distribution network
    • Strategy, opportunities and challenges for distribution network operators in Spain
    • Technological solutions for the electrification of the economy: demand flexibility, energy communities and self-consumption, and electric mobility
