TECNALIA helps to organise OREgaua, the European Researchers’ Night in Barakaldo
As every September, European cities are joining forces to hold Researchers’ Night, an event to take science to the streets. This year, the event will celebrate OREgaua; bringing science to the streets to think about climate challenge and real solutions made in the Basque Country.
Experiments, underwater robots, drones and more
Following the success of the previous edition, when more than 2,000 people came to play and learn through science, this year we are making it even bigger. It will take place on 26 September at the Lasesarre sports centre in Barakaldo, with around 100 researchers. We will hold a very special afternoon with experiments, workshops, games and many more surprises for everyone.
Attendees will be able to take part in workshops and a variety of activities such as:
- Scientific Txokos with workshops and experiments
- Showcase of home-grown renewable projects
- Exhibition of Basque women leading the marine renewable sector
- “Txikis” zone: crafts, games and face painting for children
- Underwater robot exhibition
- Talent and employment Zone
- UE Area
OREgaua full programme
- The full programme of free activities will be available soon.
About the ORE4citizens project
This event is part of the ORE4citizens project, an alliance led by TECNALIA, UPV/EHU, Euskampus Fundazioa and BCAM Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, to share science with the general public, raise awareness of the effects of climate change on the Basque coast and show the key role played by marine renewable energy in the fight against global warming.
- This year, around 20 companies and associations from the sector will be taking part, and Barakaldo Town Council will be supporting the event.
- The initiative aims to highlight the global leadership of the Basque industry in the sector and the opportunity it offers society and the planet. Discover the power of Zero!
