Global Quantum Technology and Industry Event: a key meeting point for the European Quantum Ecosystem

Q-Expo 2026 brings together international experts, technology companies, start-ups, investors and public policy makers in Bilbao to analyse the current state and future of Quantum Technologies. The event covers areas such as Quantum Computing, Quantum Internet, Cybersecurity, Advanced Sensors, Enterprise Readiness and Industrial Deployment.

This edition is especially relevant as it is being held within the framework of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology promoted by UNESCO, with a programme that combines technical presentations, high-level panels, exhibition spaces and networking activities.

TECNALIA’s contribution to the technical programme

TECNALIA is strengthening its commitment to the transfer of quantum technologies to the industrial fabric by participating in the official programme of the event.

    • TECNALIA colleague Eneko Osaba is taking part in the Applied Quantum Computing for Industrial 3D Bin Packing showcase: A Würth Case Study, where a real case study applying quantum computing to complex industrial optimisation problems will be presented, together with Carlos-Kuchkovsky, CEO of QCentroid, and Alma María Ortuño, Innovation Expert at TELEFONICA.
    • TECNALIA colleague Irene López de Vallejo will be moderating the Quantum Sensing panel: The First Multi-Billion-Dollar Quantum Industry, with Thomas Strohm, Chief Expert for Quantum Technologies, Bosch Research, President, European Quantum Industry Consortium e.V. (QuIC), Kyriaki-Minoglou, Head of the Optics, Robotics and Life Sciences Division, TEC-MM and Thierry Debuisschert, Senior Expert, Thales Research & Technology, focusing on the early adoption of quantum sensors in sectors such as aerospace, biotechnology and automotive, and on the development of new generation capabilities for critical uses.

TECNALIA joins the European benchmark group QTAG

While the Q-Expo 2026 is on, TECNALIA will be joining QTAG - Quantum Technologies Advisory Group of the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), the European benchmark group that contributes to defining the strategic vision and roadmap for quantum technologies in Europe.

TECNALIA will be represented in this group by Irene López de Vallejo, Head of Business Development in the quantum area, who is also moderating one of the key tables of the event. By joining this group, TECNALIA is strengthening its position as one of the leading players in connecting applied research, industry and public policy in the quantum field.
