TECNALIA is taking part in the GIFE Congress to promote agri-food innovation
On 3-4 December, TECNALIA is taking part in the GIFE Congress - Global Innovation Forum Econatur, at the Córdoba Conference Centre. This international meeting, in which TECNALIA will be taking part, will bring together business leaders, researchers, scientists and companies from the agri-food sector and biotechnology to discuss major sustainability, innovation and health challenges.
After the success of the last edition, the Global Innovation Forum Econatur has become an unmissable event to find effective answers to the challenges that arise in the world of innovation. In this context, GIFE stands out for its commitment to food safety, technological innovation, agricultural sustainability and applied biotechnology, helping to create a more efficient and resilient agri-food value chain.
A comprehensive and enriching programme for the sector
GIFE 2025’s programme includes keynote speeches, round tables, interactive workshops, commercial exhibitions and success stories presented by relevant people from the sectors involved. In this sense, the programme will include the participation of TECNALIA and a talk by Laura Oliver, PhD, Health Researcher at TECNALIA and Healthy Eating expert.
Key topics to be addressed include sustainable innovation, the impact of AI on agri-food innovation, agricultural biotechnology, precision agriculture, sustainable water footprint management and the circular economy in the sector.
A sector being transformed
The agri-food sector faces unprecedented challenges:
- Ensuring food safety in a context of population growth
- Reducing the water and carbon footprint by adapting to increasingly stringent environmental requirements
- Developing crops that are more resilient to climate change and disease
- Responding to consumer demand for healthier and more sustainable food
And these needs require technological solutions that combine advanced research, digitalisation and sustainability.
What does technological innovation bring?
TECNALIA’s technological innovation in the agri-food sector translates into solutions that combine science, digitalisation and sustainability to respond to the major global challenges of the sector. From developing more resilient and efficient crops to implementing advanced technologies to optimise the value chain, TECNALIA’s approach reduces environmental impact, improves food safety and increases the competitiveness of the sector.
TECNALIA is committed to knowledge transfer and collaboration with companies to transform innovation into tangible results that boost a healthier and more sustainable future.
At GIFE 2025, TECNALIA will present an agri-food innovation success story to show how the use of disruptive technologies can transform the value chain:
- Applied biotechnology to improve crop productivity and resilience
- Digitalisation and data analysis to optimise processes and reduce environmental impact
- Development of new ingredients and functional foods that respond to health and wellness trends
By taking part in this conference, TECNALIA is consolidating its leadership in innovation and technology for the agri-food sector, working together with companies and entities to build a more sustainable and competitive future.
