With more than 35 years of experience, we are one of today’s leading testing centres thanks to a solid system of international accreditations and recognitions that ensure the quality and global validity of our results.
- For more than three decades, we have supported the electrical industry with tests that ensure compliance with the most demanding product standards, including IEC 60076, IEC 62271, IEC 60947, IEC 60840, IEC 62067, IEC 61869, as well as standards for smart meters and communication protocols.
- This work is underpinned by accreditations such as ENAC, which is essential to access global markets, as well as extensive international recognition, including approvals from utilities such as TENAGA (Malaysia), ADWEA/TAQA, DEWA, SEWA, KAHRAMAA, DCRP, SEC in the Middle East and from certification bodies, such as INTERTEK, UL, ASEFA (France) and IMQ (Italy).
As ENAC is a member of EA, ILAC and IAF, our accreditations and test results have full international recognition, facilitating the approval and acceptance of equipment worldwide.
ENAC/ILAC accreditation: a seal of confidence for electrical equipment manufacturers
ENAC accreditation confirms that TECNALIA's electrical laboratories operate under a system that guarantees the technical competence, validity of the methodologies and rigour of the procedures, ensuring reproducible, traceable and internationally recognised tests.
The reports issued under ENAC accreditation are globally recognised, enabling manufacturers to use TECNALIA's results for certification and approval processes in different countries, which is a key competitive advantage in order to access new markets.
Electrical laboratories with advanced capabilities
TECNALIA’s electrical laboratories offer comprehensive coverage, including:
- Power tests: short circuit, opening and closing, internal arc, thermal and dynamic performance.
- High voltage (HV) dielectric tests: verification of electrical insulation in medium and high voltage.
- Assessment of low voltage (LV) equipment: heating, functional checks and tests, IPs.
- Mobile laboratory for high voltage (HV) cables, which allows for on site testing on cables installed prior to commissioning.
This infrastructure enables full type tests to be performed to validate the design, including tests in large volume climatic chambers or seismic, vibration and shock tests, covering the needs of manufacturers and utilities in all phases of development and validation.
