TECNALIA at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: the leading congress on connectivity, innovation, leadership, and blockchain

Our colleague Ana Ayerbe, representing the Network of Excellence on Cybersecurity R&D&I, has participated in the INCIBE Innovative Public Procurement panel

Our industry meets at the leading congress in connectivity MWC Barcelona. At this event, attendees can connect in person or remotely, with 30% of the exhibiting companies present only online. In the same way, part of the conferences is also held on-line to create synergies and connections with other companies.

After the cancellation of the 2020 edition, the event hopes to gather this year between 30,000 and 50,000 attendees. It will also have 300 exhibitors, 600 speakers, and 350 start-ups spread over 100,000 square meters, constituting a hybrid format.

Innovation, leadership, blockchain, and information ownership

The main themes of this Mobile World Congress 2021 are innovation and leadership, focusing on specific aspects such as blockchain roaming for the control and ownership of information. Reports focusing on gender equality in the industry, the mobile economy, climate, and artificial intelligence are also featured. The latest mobile trends continue to focus on foldable smartphones with multiple cameras and long-lasting batteries.

Carme Artigas, Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, presented ObservaCiber, a project carried out jointly between the National Observatory of Technology and Society (ONTSI) and the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), to develop indicators and studies on the adoption and risks of cybersecurity.

Next, our colleague Ana Ayerbe, representing the Network of Excellence on Cybersecurity R&D&i, has participated in the INCIBE Innovative Public Procurement panel, moderated by: Jose Ignacio Cases, chairman of NOVADAYS. And Lola Rebollo, Industry Promotion and R&D&i Manager at INCIBE and Santiago Soley, CEO of PILDOLabs participated in the event.
