“TECNALIA has unique laboratories for realistic validation of prototypes, simulations and risk analysis”
By joining forces with BEQUINOR, TECNALIA proves its firm commitment to industrial safety and technological innovation.
TECNALIA’s activity focuses on applied research, experimental validation and CFD modelling of risk scenarios, with a special focus on two strategic energy vectors: hydrogen and lithium-ion batteries.
This combination of capabilities enables it to assess and mitigate risks of leakage, dispersion, fire and explosion, as well as to develop methodologies that provide safety for manufacturers, operators and administrations.
The aims of this collaboration are as follows:
- Obtain proposals for improving and updating technical safety regulations
- Develop technical guides address the management of risks associated with emerging technologies
Unique laboratories to validate prototypes and analyse risks
TECNALIA has unique laboratories for realistic prototype validation, simulations and risk analysis, using tracer gases such as helium to safely replicate hydrogen behaviour, as well as test benches to characterise fire propagation and mitigation in lithium batteries.
The aim of this is to transfer practical and differential solutions that reinforce security in real environments.
BEQUINOR (Asociación Nacional de Normalización de Bienes de Equipo y Seguridad Industrial) is a non-profit association that has been working in industrial safety for more than 50 years. It aims to collaborate on the improvement of the safety of industrial installations, in order to minimise the risks for people, the environment and the installations themselves.
