La iniciativa AUTOMOST es galardonada con el Premio al Desarrollo Industrial en ITS

This award recognises the project as being the most important nationwide in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems

The Industrial Development Award in ITS was presented by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) to the AutoMOST initiative, which is headed by the mobility company Avanza. This award recognises AutoMOST as the most significant project in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). The impact achieved, scope and innovation were assessed in order to choose the winner.

The ITSS works towards promoting the theoretical, experimental and operational aspects of electrical engineering and information technologies applied to intelligent transport systems. ITS use synergistic technologies and systems engineering concepts to develop and improve transport systems.

Avanza has been working on this project for three years. What makes it unique is its capacity and real interaction with the city. For the first time in this field, AutoMOST tackles the great challenge of adding a positioning and sensor system to a large urban passenger transport vehicle that will travel autonomously through the city.

AutoMOST will involve incorporating shared control systems (Dual Mode) on future autonomous passenger transport vehicles. It will allow services to operate more efficiently and flexibly, in a context of smart and connected infrastructures.

Research and technology development

A number of partners have been involved in carrying out this project funded by the CDTI:

  • Irizar (vehicle)
  • Datik (smart mobility management information technologies)
  • Eralux (mobility management infrastructure and software in the context of a smart city)
  • Masermic (electronic positioning and sensing technologies)
  • Insitu (laser scanner technology, georadar, GIS, etc.)
  • Novadays (public sector consultant specialising in infrastructure and mobility)
  • EMT
  • Malaga port

Today, improving mobility has become one of our main concerns, which is why we continue to provide increasingly sustainable, smart and innovative solutions.
