Functional printing enables simple electronic circuits to be obtained using functional inks on a wide range of substrates.
TECNALIA has patented a substrate that enables fine lines below 200 µm (relevant for sensors) to be printed and which also allows for appropriate integration in composite due to its high porosity. On the other hand, its high stretchability is very useful for use in multilayer fabrics.
Problems solved by STRETCHVEIL
The introduction of functions in textiles or in parts with complex composite geometries has huge limitations due to the lack of highly flexible or stretchable solutions on which to integrate functionalities or even electronic circuits.
In general, PET, PEI and PU substrates are used, which require complex processes for lamination/gluing/embedding and they also generate delaminations in the structures. Problems include stretchability, porosity or conformability in order to obtain fabrics that maintain their comfort or that can follow the geometry of parts with curvatures or complex angles.
