New advanced course on analysis of experimental data with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

TECNALIA is launching this micro-credential in online format in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country: “Advanced analysis of experimental data using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence”.

Specialised training aimed at engineers and biotechnology professionals with an intermediate level in data analysis who want to boost research in the fields of chemistry, biology and biotechnology.

    • The increasing complexity of experimental data and the rise of Artificial Intelligence are transforming the way R&D processes are designed, analysed and optimised.
    • This course offers a practical and applied approach to how advanced AI, machine learning and bioinformatics techniques can improve knowledge extraction, accelerate decision-making and optimise experimental results.

    Course objectives

The main objective is to discover and apply AI tools and advanced data analytics, including the use of synthetic data and bioinformatics techniques to:

    • Improve experimental data management and processing.
    • Extract relevant information from complex, high-dimensional data sets.
    • Apply predictive and explainable models to the scientific and technological context.

The training can also be used in health and life sciences, biomedical research, bioinformatics and digital health thanks to the professionals of TECNALIA’s Health team.

At the end of the course, participants will have a firm understanding of available solutions, their use cases and how to apply them effectively to optimise data management and analysis in research projects.

Contents of the advanced course on experimental data analysis with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

The programme lasts a total of 20 hours and will be taught by TECNALIA specialists and EHU professionals:

    • ML flow (training/cross validation/interpretability)
      • Data processing: Curation, normalisation, outliers, PCA/PLS for dimensionality reduction
      • Multivariate regression and classification and Bayesian optimisation models
      • Model fitting and selection, interpretability (SHAP)
      • Model validation and confidence intervals
      • Large Language Models (LLMs) and their use in health.

With this training, TECNALIA is strengthening its commitment to knowledge transfer and advanced training, bringing the latest artificial intelligence technologies closer to the scientific community and industry.
