TECNALIA is taking part in WEFOOD 2026 to drive innovation that will transform the food of the future

TECNALIA will be at WEFOOD 2026, the Agri-Food Innovation Forum organised by Cajamar, a leading event to find out about the trends, technologies and solutions that are shaping the future of the food industry. The event will bring together companies, research centres and experts from the sector to address some of the key challenges facing the food sector, ranging from personalised nutrition and health to sustainability, circularity and the digitalisation of production processes.

In this sixth edition, the programme is structured around four main themed areas:

    • Personalised nutrition.
    • Microbiota and health.
    • Resources in Transition.
    • Smart Food Industry.

Sensors and digitalisation for a smart industry

TECNALIA will moderate the ‘Smart Food Industry’ session, which will analyse how digitalisation, artificial intelligence, data and advanced technologies are driving more efficient, safer and more sustainable production models. Our colleague, Leire San Vicente, researcher in Healthy Eating, will be there.

Our participation reflects TECNALIA’s commitment to the technological transformation of the food supply chain and to the development of solutions that enable companies to increase their competitiveness in a context characterised by the need to produce more with fewer resources, guarantee food quality and safety and address new consumer demands.

Technology for a more efficient and sustainable agri-food industry

TECNALIA works alongside companies across the entire food value chain to accelerate the incorporation of technologies that help to optimise processes, increase traceability, boost production efficiency and develop new high-value added products.

Our capabilities cover strategic areas for the sector, such as:

    • Digitalisation and advanced data analysis.
    • Artificial intelligence applied to industrial plants.
    • Sensors and monitoring systems.
    • Technologies for food safety and quality.
    • Development of new ingredients and food.
    • Sustainable processes and circular economy models.
    • Technologies for the validation and industrial scale-up of food innovation.

Thanks to this multidisciplinary approach, we help companies turn innovation into a tangible competitive advantage and accelerate the time-to-market for new food solutions.

A forum to bring innovation and business together

WEFOOD has established itself as a meeting point for industry, research and innovation, presenting real case studies, emerging technologies and success stories that are transforming the agri-food sector. The aim is to provide businesses with practical knowledge and opportunities for collaboration to address today’s food-related challenges.

TECNALIA’s involvement in moderating one of the event’s strategic sessions reinforces our position as a leading technology partner for companies seeking to develop a smarter, more resilient and sustainable food industry.

Do you want to drive innovation in your food company?

If you are looking to incorporate artificial intelligence, advanced digitalisation, new processing technologies or sustainable solutions into your business, we look forward to seeing you at WEFOOD 2026 to share knowledge, explore opportunities for collaboration and discover how technology can boost the competitiveness of the food industry.

    See you at WEFOOD 2026.
