TECNALIA to take part in the 8th International Congress on Food Quality and Safety
Between June 17 and 19, TECNALIA will share its insights on innovation in the food sector at the 8th International Congress on Food Quality and Safety, organised by ACOFESAL.
The event will play host to professionals, companies and experts in the field of food safety, where they will share knowledge, technological developments and the challenges that the sector faces, against a backdrop of increasing regulatory requirements, sustainability and the demand for safer, healthier food.
Driving innovation in food safety
Laura Oliver, a Senior Researcher in Food Science at TECNALIA with a PhD in Science, will be a panellist at the round table discussion entitled “R&D&I: Innovation as a tool for development in the food industry”, which will take place on June 19 at 9.00 am, alongside other specialists from the fields of science and technology.
- This session will look at the role of research and innovation as a key driver in tackling the current challenges facing the food sector, ranging from improving food quality and safety to incorporating new technologies into production processes.
- In her presentation, Laura will explain the latest developments in bioprocess monitoring systems in the food industry and the rise of digital technologies that make it possible to get a more accurate picture of how bioprocesses evolve, and to control and optimise them in order to increase their efficiency and ensure food safety.
- A more precise understanding of the metabolomics of a microbial ecosystem, combined with advances in sensor technology, could lead to some very interesting practical applications, such as in the dairy, wine and beer industries, or in the biotechnological production of new ingredients.
Technology for safer, more sustainable food
TECNALIA’s participation in this forum reflects its commitment to supporting the food industry in its transformation, providing solutions based on:
- Advanced analysis and quality control technologies
- Digitalisation and artificial intelligence applied to food processes
- New ingredients and healthy foods
- Food traceability and safety systems
- Optimisation of sustainable production processes
These capabilities allow us to tackle the sector’s main challenges, and ensure that food is safer, more efficient and in line with the expectations of consumers and regulators.
Bridging the gap between innovation and the market
Events such as the International Congress on Food Quality and Safety are key to fostering collaboration between players in the food ecosystem, stimulating knowledge transfer and speeding up the adoption of new technological solutions within the industry.
Through its involvement at this event, TECNALIA will continue to strengthen its position as a leading technology partner in the food sector, helping to develop innovative solutions that will improve business competitiveness and consumer confidence.
