“In Europe, 50 million connected and automated cars are expected to be in circulation by 2026”

We develop self-protection and self-assessment tools to improve the cybersecurity of autonomous and connected vehicles against potential cyberattacks

TECNALIA takes part in the European SELFY project. It will develop a set of self-protection and self-assessment tools to improve the cybersecurity of connected and automated cars against potential cyberattacks.

Security and privacy

The SELFY consortium will address the type of data to be generated and collected and its monitoring; advanced processing of data to detect potential threats; the development of new tools to increase the ability to adapt and respond to cyberthreats by reducing their impact; and the acceptance and adoption of services and solutions in this area. The SELFY tools will help to ensure privacy, confidentiality and integrity, as well as to improve accessibility in the CCAM environment.

The tools will first be validated with a simulation and in a laboratory environment, and subsequently, three scenarios will be built in real and controlled environments to demonstrate the performance and usability of the tools in a collaborative and cooperative environment.

The project is made up of technology companies from eight European countries: Spain (with Eurecat, TECNALIA, AEVAC, Ficosa and Applus Idiada), France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Japan and Australia.
