Iruretagoyena Award for a TECNALIA Ventures project

The undergraduate final year project developed by one of the teams of students of Business Administration and Management at the University of Deusto on one of the deep-tech projects managed by TECNALIA Ventures has won the Sebastian Iruretagoyena Award

On Thursday, 4 July 2022, the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences of Deusto Business School (DBS) presented the “Sebastián Iruretagoyena Award for the Best Undergraduate Final Year Project in Business Administration (ADE) 2021-2022” to a project by TECNALIA Ventures: Floating Photovoltaic Solution – Strategic Analysis with Business Potential, by students of the University of Deusto: Nahia Urkia Irigoyen, Nerea Urretavizcaya Ruiz, Aritz Erauncetamurguil Barcina, Amaiur Oskila Santos, Amaia Zarranz Mendizabal and Jon Zabaleta Peña.

Andoni Bergareche, Chair of the ALCE Foundation, and David Iruretagoyena, son of Sebastian Iruretagoyena, praised the work carried out by all the finalists and congratulated the winners. Germán Lasa,, CMO of TECNALIA Ventures, also attended the awards ceremony on behalf of the entity, as a partner company.

The jury evaluated the short-listed projects from an academic point of view and from the perspective of their economic, social and environmental impact, whilst also considering the collaboration of external agents with the University.

The jury was made up of Asun Ibáñez, Degree Coordinator of Deusto Business School (DBS) at the Donostia-San Sebastian campus (on behalf of the Dean of the faculty, Álvaro de la Rica); Cristina Iturrioz, Coordinator of the Undergraduate Final Year Project in Business Administration at the Donostia-San Sebastián campus; Rosa Cristóbal, member of the Department of Finance and Economics of the DBS; David and Amaia Iruretagoyena, representing the Iruretagoyena family; and Andoni Bergareche, Chair of the ALCE Foundation.

About the Sebastian Iruretagoyena Award

This award, worth €2,000, recognises and promotes students’ efforts in the development of their final year project in Business Administration and Management (ADE) at the Donostia-San Sebastian campus of the University of Deusto.

The award also aims to honour Professor Sebastian Iruretagoyena, who was the first Director of the Executive MBA in Gipuzkoa of this faculty. He mainly lectured in the areas of accounting, financial analysis and finance, and he was a key figure in the training of students, executives and entrepreneurs in Gipuzkoa.
