TECNALIA will carry out impact actions in relation to responsible innovation in four European regions.

TECNALIA is leading the development of the Policy Labs in the TetRRIS Territorial Responsible Research and Innovation and Smart Specialisation project, in which current research and innovation policy systems are being analysed. This ad-hoc learning ecosystem fosters learning between regions, co-creation and knowledge transfer in terms of responsibility, sustainability, inclusiveness, diversity and reflexivity applied to R&D.

TECNALIA will carry out impact actions in relation to responsible innovation in four European regions. One of the four pilots will take place in Cantabria. It will focus on the Innovation Ecosystem, and more specifically on the Autonomous Community’s Smart Specialisation Strategy, through the effective integration of ethical and social aspects and effective participation in the design of the key stakeholders and representatives of civil society.

TECNALIA accompanies SODERCAN, a public company depending on Cantabria Government’s Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Innovation, Transport and Commerce, and the Cantabria Government’s Directorate General for Innovation, Technological Development and Industrial Entrepreneurship in the development of actions aimed at the institutionalisation of a more responsible and participative smart specialisation strategy, in line with the principles of RRI.

Several phases have been established: diagnosis of the region’s R&D ecosystem and the development of pilot projects that will address diverse impact actions in the region. The opportunities and challenges faced by the region in terms of research and innovation over the forthcoming years will be explored, as well as the challenges for citizens and the current and future expectations.
