The new construction industrialisation glossary offers technical knowledge of the basic concepts of the construction of the future
The Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC) has presented the Construction Industrialisation Glossary, a resource that seeks to standardise the technical language of the sector and accelerate its transformation towards more efficient, sustainable and digital models.
This document, produced in collaboration with TECNALIA and HUB&LAB for Advanced and Industrialised Construction in the Province of Cadiz, is a strategic tool for professionals, researchers and administrations.
More than a hundred key terms
The glossary includes more than a hundred essential terms, explained clearly and accurately, covering the entire field of industrialisation: from concepts such as prefabrication, just in time and assembly, to advanced terms such as digital twin, parametric design and industrial integrator.
It is divided into six thematic blocks:
- Production processes and techniques
- Business Models
- Digitisation
- Sustainability
- Architectural design
- Sectoral governance
The document has great pedagogical value as a tool for facilitating communication between stakeholders with various profiles and ensuring a shared conceptual framework.
