Standard ISO 14091:2021 “Adaptation to climate change: Guidelines on vulnerability, impacts and risk assessment” has been published recently, whereby some of our experts in adaptation to climate change participated in its drafting.
This standard offers guidance to public and private organisations to assess risks related to the impact of climate change. It describes how to understand the vulnerability and how to develop and implement a solid risk assessment in organisations of all types and sizes.
It also provides examples on the use of impact chains, qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, as well as the selection of different analysis techniques and tools.
This ISO Standard is the latest in the emerging family of standards on adaptation to climate change, which falls under ISO 14090, “Adaptation to Climate Change - Principles, Requirements and Guidelines”.
