“The project presented by TECNALIA was recognised for its innovative and transformative nature”
Our collaboration with the Basque Down Syndrome Foundation has been recognised as a transformative initiative
On 23 October, TECNALIA was selected as a finalist for the Disruptores Innovation Awards 2025, a recognition of our collaboration with the Basque Down Syndrome Foundation. The initiative was valued for its social and technological impact, aimed at improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.
Innovation with a social impact
The project presented by TECNALIA was recognised for its innovative and transformative nature at the awards organised by the Disruptors + Innovators media outlet.
- Together with the Basque Down Syndrome Foundation, TECNALIA has developed a technological solution that promotes the inclusion, independence and well-being of people with intellectual disabilities, demonstrating the power of technology to bring about positive change in society.
- We have been able to work with these groups using our own technology based on virtual reality and augmented reality. For these individuals, being able to manage everyday tasks more independently—such as taking the underground or doing the washing—is a challenge.
Committed to a more inclusive society
This recognition will encourage us to continue working on technological solutions that have a purpose and make a real impact on people's lives. We believe in technology that transforms, connects and contributes to building a fairer, more inclusive society.
TECNALIA would like to offer our congratulations to Gradiant, which won in our category.
