“TECNALIA helps companies throughout the entire life cycle of the prefabricated construction system”

TECNALIA has been invited to join the Industrialised Construction Advisory Committee of the Spanish Association of Industrialised Construction (AECI)

This step strengthens TECNALIA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability and the transformation of the production model in the industrialised construction sector.

TECNALIA’s participation in this strategic committee is part of its role as a key actor in the promotion of industrialised, more efficient and sustainable solutions. At the recent AECI Forum 2025, Miguel Mateos, Head of Innovation and Conformity Assessment Point at TECNALIA, took part in the round table on quality in industrial processes, certification and sustainability.

He highlighted their vision of industrialised construction as a solution to the challenges facing the sector, such as sustainability, traceability and labour shortages, among others.

    Services for industrialised building systems

TECNALIA helps companies throughout the entire life cycle of the prefabricated construction system, from design, manufacturing and assembly to conformity assessment. To do so, it optimises each stage and obtains the highest profitability in each of the phases, supporting companies to sell their products faster and more efficiently.

    Specifically, TECNALIA offers:

    • European Technical Assessments (ETA) for CE marking of industrialised building systems and their components.
    • Technical Conformity Report (TC) to prove the compliance of industrialised systems with the Technical Building Code (CTE).
    • Laboratory testing in accordance with national and international regulations.
    • New testing protocols.
    • On-site tests to verify correct installation and assess performance.

Furthermore, all digital solutions must be flexible and interoperable in order to adapt to new processes in an optimal way. In this sense, TECNALIA offers:

    • Parametric design, optimisation tools and intelligent design (application of Machine Learning) to speed up the design phases.
    • Interoperability of design tools with manufacturing processes (CNC, robotics, etc.).
    • Digital Twin for prefabricated life-cycle management.
    • Computer vision for process monitoring in factories.

By joining the AECI Advisory Committee, TECNALIA will be able to share its experience in standardisation, certification and assessment of industrialised systems, as well as collaborate in the definition of standards that promote quality and sustainability in building.

With this alliance, TECNALIA strengthens its position as a benchmark for industrialised construction, actively contributing to the evolution of the sector towards more circular, digitalised and resilient models.
