"Collaboration between industry and technological innovation to drive a new generation of construction solutions"

The European Technical Assessment consolidates Titanpro Titantherm as a solution for external thermal insulation systems in sustainable construction

TECNALIA has issued the European Technical Assessment (ETA for Titanpro Titantherm, the external thermal insulation system developed by Akzo Nobel Coatings as part of its range of solutions for efficient and sustainable construction. This European Technical Assessment represents significant recognition of compliance with the strictest European standards in terms of technical performance, energy efficiency and construction quality.

The Technical Assessment has been issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2024/3110, based on the European Assessment Document EAD 040083-01-0404, referring to external thermal insulation composite systems with rendering systems.

A strategic step towards sustainable construction

Obtaining this European Technical Assessment (ETA) strengthens the position of Titanpro Titantherm within the ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System) segment, which is becoming increasingly relevant in energy-efficiency refurbishment processes and in the construction of high-efficiency buildings.

The system incorporates a coating over expanded polystyrene (EPS) for use as external thermal insulation on façades, contributing significantly to reducing the energy demand of buildings and increasing their thermal performance.

In a context marked by the energy transition and European decarbonisation targets, this type of solution plays a key role in the evolution towards a more efficient, resilient and sustainable building stock.

TECNALIA, guarantee of technical expertise and European validation

As the Technical Assessment Body responsible for issuing the ETA, TECNALIA brings a strong international track record in the assessment, certification and validation of innovative solutions for the construction sector.

The issue of this assessment, with reference to EAD 040083-01-0404, ensures that the system complies with the European criteria for external thermal insulation composite systems with rendering, building trust with manufacturers, specifiers, architects, engineering firms and developers who require solutions that meet the most stringent regulatory and sustainability standards on the market.

Innovation, efficiency and a European outlook

The award of this European Technical Assessment (ETA) marks another step forward in AKZO’s commitment to technological solutions for sustainable construction. Solutions such as Titanpro Titantherm are accelerating the energy transition in the construction sector through high-performance systems designed to deliver efficiency, durability and optimised thermal comfort.

With this European validation, AKZO and TECNALIA are reinforcing their commitment to developing advanced construction solutions that are aligned with new market demands and with European targets for sustainability, energy efficiency and emissions reduction.

Commitment to the future of construction

The issue of this European Technical Assessment consolidates the strategic value of collaboration between industry and technological innovation to drive a new generation of more efficient and sustainable construction solutions.

The combination of industrial innovation, European technical validation and environmental commitment places Titanpro Titantherm as a leading reference in external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) for energy-efficient construction and refurbishment in Europe.
