"Electric propulsion systems powered by batteries and solar energy, capable of operating emission-free and silently"
A new generation of electric and decarbonised boats
We provide our knowledge and expertise to help develop advanced technologies that will increase the energy efficiency, range and sustainability of the electric boats of the future. In this way, we are reinforcing our commitment to developing technological solutions that drive the decarbonisation of mobility and the growth of new sustainable industrial activities.
We also help to accelerate the transfer of knowledge to the business community and to strengthen the Basque Country’s position in strategic areas, such as the Blue Economy and zero-emission maritime mobility.
The Zero Emissions Marine Boat initiative, led by the Basque company LASAI,, aims to promote a new generation of electric and decarbonised boats, positioning the Basque Country as a European leader in sustainable maritime mobility. It involves the participation of other organisations within the Basque Network for Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as several Basque industrial SMEs.
The project was recently presented by the Basque Government as one of the Transformative Projects under the Basque Country 2030 Industry Plan. The aim is to create a new industrial value chain linked to zero-emission boating, combining industrial, technological and innovation capabilities to accelerate the electrification of the maritime sector.
Innovation and decarbonisation to lead the way towards sustainable sailing in the future
LASAI, a company based in the Basque Country specialising in electric-solar boats, has developed an innovative concept based on electric propulsion systems powered by batteries and solar energy, capable of sailing emission-free, silently and with a long range. The company has established itself as one of Europe’s leading references in sustainable sailing thanks to solutions that enable certain models to achieve a range of over 100 nautical miles.
