TECNALIA extends the scope of ENAC accreditation to include EXAP standards
Company
NAUTILUS has developed a compact and economically efficient semi-submerged floating structure that makes it possible to create off-shore floating wind farms.
NAUTILUS Floating Solutions is an industrial and technological consortium made up of Astilleros de Murueta, Tamoin, Velatia, Jaúregui and Vicinay Marine Innovación. These four companies are leaders in advanced technology and have a presence in international markets that aim to become the world leader in developing floating platforms for the offshore wind market and the TECNALIA applied research centre.
The company’s objective is to develop semi-submerged floating platforms that can be used in locations where the depth of the seabed does not currently allow for offshore solutions with foundations. The advantages of the structure are based on its design, which allows for manufacturing in conventional shipyards, assembly of the wind turbine in port and towing and installation using conventional boats
At this time, the technology is well positioned in the very high growth market of floating offshore wind energy.
Market situation
During 2020 and 2021, NAUTILUS will manufacture and install a full-scale prototype and, at the same time, be part of consortia that will provide equipment for the first commercial wind farms to be installed from 2027 onwards.
