In this breakthrough, TECNALIA has developed a pioneering 3D web application that enables real-time monitoring of the flow of people and vehicles in buildings: it uses 3D sensors that offer greater spatial precision than 2D cameras. The application stands out for it capability to operate in dark environments and it fully complies with privacy regulations, as the technology does not identify faces or number plates, focusing instead on identifying moving elements.
In addition, the web application has been equipped with the ability to visualise the data collected by the sensors in BIM (Building Information Modelling) models, providing a unique and detailed visual perspective where the data parameterised in the model is also used.
These technologies are great for building monitoring, but can also extend to areas such as perimeter security, wildlife detection, and spatial analysis in public spaces. The application is versatile and covers indoor environments such as offices, hospitals, and shopping centres, as well as outdoor environments such as smart cities, car parks, and ports.
