R-evolve Innovation Camp brought together furniture experts to boost sustainability, circular economy and Digital Product Passports

Copenhagen hosted R-evolve Innovation Camp, a meeting that brought together key players in the furniture sector to work on sustainability strategies, use of data and circular business models (CBMs).

Over three days, interdisciplinary teams carried out work around the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a tool that improves traceability, promotes transparency and turns data into a strategic resource.

By means of practical workshops, they analysed real products, identified redesign opportunities and collaborated with industrial partners to work towards more modular, repairable and circular solutions.

Methodologies and technologies for assessing the quality and decontamination of reclaimed furniture

The event was attended by TECNALIA colleague Iker Hidalgo, from the Construction and Materials Laboratory, who presented the progress of Task 1.5, focused on methodologies and technologies for assessing the quality and decontamination of reclaimed furniture. This task is divided into:

    • ST1.5.1: Assessment of classification and decontamination methodologies, detecting gaps between economic feasibility and quality requirements.
    • ST1.5.2: Development of guidelines to apply these methodologies and technologies to different types of reclaimed furniture.

The camp confirms R-evolve’s commitment to the European Green Deal and the new regulations on sustainable design, fostering collaboration between policy, strategy and industry stakeholders.

An initiative that marks a key step towards a more responsible, competitive and circular future for the European furniture sector.
