Our smart system for the energy efficiency of industrial plants, finalist in the prestigious DatSci Awards 2019

17 July 2019

We’ve been selected in the category of ‘Best Use of Data Processing Science/Artificial Intelligence in Industry 4.0’

Each year the DatSci Awards demonstrate the power of data processing science and artificial intelligence in driving real business, educational and social outcomes..

The competition is a unique opportunity to showcase research and application of Data Science/AI and get recognised in this growing industry.

This time we were finalists in the category ‘Best use of Data Science/AI for Industry 4.0’. We presented a smart system for the diagnosis of energy (in)efficiencies in industrial plants called NAIA I4.0: it applies data analysis techniques, learns from a set of historical data that measures consumption, the causal relationship of consumption/production at industrial plant level, and provides advice for the efficient management of plant energy.

NAIA I4.0 drives the 4th Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0 by promoting the transformation of the manufacturing industry through digitalisation, data analysis and machine learning. The system has been validated at a GESTAMP manufacturing plant.

The awards ceremony will take place in Dublin on 5 September.
